Jeremy Foley

Be where your feet are. I'm not saying don't have ambition, but sometimes just staying where you are and being the best you can be is the best formula for success. - Jeremy Foley

Jeremy Foley is widely regarded as the greatest athletic director in NCAA history. He started as a humble intern at the University of Florida and spent his entire 40-year career with the Gators -- rising to become athletic director for 25 of those years.

Under his leadership, Florida claimed 27 national championships across multiple sports and became one of the most dominant and respected programs in college athletics. He hired and supported coaching legends like Billy Donovan (men's basketball), Urban Meyer (football), and Mary Wise (volleyball), and helped shape the careers of athletes like Tim Tebow, Abby Wambach, Ryan Lochte, and Al Horford.

But what really sets Foley apart isn't the trophies -- it's the culture he's built, the loyalty he's modeled, and the leaders he has shaped. He said:

"I think a lot of young people today put pressure on themselves -- 'By 30 I need to be here, by 35 there.' But sometimes, just staying where you're at and being the best you can be is the best formula for success. Be where your feet are."

He didn't chase titles -- he showed up and gave his all. And greatness followed. Today he mentors the next generation of leaders, reminding them: You don't have to have to leap ahead to win -- you just have to be excellent where you are.

Don't miss what's in front of you because you're staring at the horizon.
